Ichiko School Festival “ARIGATO” Opening on November 20th

About 850 students in Ichikawa Senior High School have been very much looking forward to this big event School Festival, is held on the 20th and 21st of November. The opening ceremony is starting in the gym with the principal Mr. Ishida’s message.
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” This is one of the famous phrases of the story “The Little Prince”. Mr. Ishida introduced the phrase as an opening remarks for all students.
The Concept of this festival is “KANSHA”, to gratitude for everything, someone, something. We say “ARIGATO” in Japanese in daily life. All of us hope that this festival will be full of “ARIGATO.” (By Koki G.)

 Ichiko Spirit ‘ SEIRYO’

In our school the action such as the ceremony called ‘SEIRYO’ started in October.
When the chime of a lesson start sounds, a teacher and all the students keep a pose
of gasho, with joining their hands. Then they close their eyes and meditate. They calm
a heart silently and prepare for taking a class calmly. No sound in classrooms.
We call this ceremony SEIRYO. We’ve become accustomed to it recently. We feel
that the concentration increases by peace of our mind.
OK! Here is a password of this festival’s stamp rally start spot! “SEIRYO” Now,
it’s Ichiko spirit! (By Ryotaro M. )
